My day unexpectedly opened up, and I immediately thought:
This is great! I’ll join the Circle practice.
As soon as I entered the Zoom room, I felt a sense of belonging.
There’s something comforting about homogenous groups,
knowing in advance how we connect with each other.
The LGBTQ+ Mindful Self-Compassion Circle of Practice, led by Raphael Jay Adjani,
further deepened that sense of belonging.
The safe space created, combined with Raphael’s thoughtful check-in with each of us,
allowed us to feel seen and heard.
I especially appreciated hearing from participants from different countries.
And then, in that safe space, after being seen and heard,
it was that much easier to close my eyes and be guided and supported
in looking deeply into my humanity with self-compassion.
The Circle of Practice is a great way to begin the month.
I wish it were happening more often
